Tiki Time:
When most people think if backyard parties, Luau's always come to mind. This theme has easy to find items. I have seen so many at Dollar Tree that would work perfectly for this theme. The first year I hosted our annual pool party I made it a Luau so here are a few ideas I would implement if I did it again!
Cool Kids Chillin:
What better way to cool off in the pool than with a popsicle themed party! This theme was inspired from the decorations that I found on Oriental Trading. They have a huge selection to choose from. Add some popsicle inflatables too the pool, hand out popsicles for a snack and turn on some chillin' music! I wrote a blog with all the tips and links to products I used. Check it out here.

Flamingle by the pool:
Flamingos and water go together so this theme is a must! What I like about this one, is that if you can't find a lot of flamingo items, you can just add in tropical and pink. Flamingo floats, cookies and pink treats are birds of a feather with this theme. Check out my Flamingo Pool Party blog for more details.

Lifeguard on duty:
I'd have to say that this theme was one of my favorite. It was easy to decorate and fun to dress up for. Use red and white items for easy decorations. Then add in lifeguard items like buoys, uniforms and fun printables. Read up on more tips and ideas on my Lifeguard Pool Party blog.

Stay Groovy:
Step back in time with a tie-dye themed pool party. If you're not feeling the average bold tie dye colors, do what I did and go pastel. These lighter colors were fun to work with. My local Target had some fun pool floats and towels I used to add more decor. Head on over to my Tie-dye Pool Party blog for more.

When I dip, you dip, we dip:
If you're a 90s kid or just loved that era, then this party will be your ultimate favorite! It was mine so I really put my heart and soul into this one. I searched far and wide to find the perfect additions for this theme. I detailed it all on my Back to the 90's blog.

Fiesta Forever:
No one parties better than when they have a margarita in hand! My fiesta themed pool party was a huge hit last year. I purchased most of my items at Party City, which is now going out of business but Amazon has so many great options as well as Oriental Trading. My Fiesta Pool Party blog features a taco bar with churros and some fun DIY decor ideas!
TIPS:
Here are a few tips I have gathered from hosting all these pool parties. Hoping it helps yours go a little smoother!
Have plenty of ice and bottled water on hand!
Add BYOB to the invite so you don't have to worry about providing alcoholic beverages everyone likes.
If the party is in between meals, provide themed snacks.
If possible make it a come and go party. In the summer, people are busy so in order to include most people we usually begin around noon and end whenever the last person wants to leave. It does make for a long day but at least it a day packed full of memories and fun!
Take pics! These years go by so fast and it's always fun to look back on all the fun you and your kids had with their friends.
Have extra towels and sunscreen on hand incase someone forgets.
Safety first: It is wise to have someone there that knows CPR!
