Need a fun activity idea for you and your friends? My friends and I have done 2 wreath making parties and they are so much fun! Here is some tips and ideas for you to use at your very own party!
1ST STEP: Decide on what type of wreath you want to make. Here are 2 wreath options I have done before:
Wooden Bead Wreath: The first wreath we made was this cute wooden bead one. For this wreath you will need the following items: –16″ Wreath Form at Michaels for $7.39. You can use the 40% off coupon on their website. –Half circle wooden beads on Amazon. You can get different sizes and mix them up or do all of one size. Make sure to order enough to cover about 2/3 – 3/4 of the wreath. -Flowers and greenery of your choice!
Here is a great step-by-step guide on how to make these wooden bead wreaths!
Gold Hoop Wreath: Another time we used a gold metal mesh wreath from Michaels. If you can't find them, you can still do this wreath! All you need is a gold metal hoop like these from Amazon for $12.99 for a pack of 6. Then cut to size and attach some 1/4″ wire mesh to the bottom of the hoop to look like the one from Michaels. It’s ok if it’s not the same color as to hoop as the mesh will be covered with flowers anyways. You can attach the mesh with floral wire.
For this wreath you can stick the flowers through the mesh and trim them to size. (You don’t want them too long as they would make the wreath stick off the wall.) We used glue to get the flowers to stay in place. Then used the floral wire to attach the greenery and flowers trailing up the sides of the hoop.
2ND STEP: Prepare for the craft day. Here are supplies you will need: –Floral wire –Wire cutters –Glue guns & glue sticks -Extension cords for the glue guns –Strong floral scissors -Old tablecloth or sheet to cover your workspace. -Food & drinks. Can’t forget the most important part right?
Here are a few tips to make the party a success: -Have guests purchase their own flowers and greenery. Everyone has different tastes and different decor in their home so it’s best to let them choose. -Consider having them also purchase their own wreath supplies (the hoops and beads) so you don’t have to footing the bill upfront or be stuck with supplies for a no-show attendee. -Order in bulk. If you 100% know that your guests are sure to come, it can be more cost effective to purchase the supplies in bulk (except the flowers of course). -Ask the guests if they have extra glue guns, wire cutters or scissors to use for the day. You will want at a least 1 glue gun per 2-3 people. -For food you can also ask guests to bring something they love and share it with everyone. That can take the cost burden down for you as well.
