6 Festively Fun Christmas Party Ideas
The holiday season is the perfect time to brings friends and family together for a memorable Christmas party. Over the years I have hosted many Christmas parties for my friends and their families. Here are 6 themes I have done that are sure to bring festive fun to your holiday season:
1. Reindeer Games:
This theme was a huge hit for our families! The night was all about games and reindeers. I started the party off with a murder mystery game of "Grandma got ran over by a reindeer". I even dressed up as a grandma and make a sweater with reindeer hoof prints on the back. The decorations, activities, crafts and prizes were all centered around games and reindeer of course! To check out all the detail, you can read my Reindeer Games blog.
2. Elfmas:
Who doesn't love the movie ELF? This is an amazing choice for a party. There are so many decorations, treats and crafts you can do for this one. The party decorations actually begin outside the house as the guests walk to New York like Buddy did! We made a snowglobe craft just like Buddy's. The food was all about what Buddy likes, spaghetti and sweet things! We ended with a row house decorating contest just like the houses in New York! 3. Polar Express:
Besides Elf, the Polar Express is my favorite Christmas movie. So making it into a party was epic for me! When the guest arrived I greeted them with a "train" and some train tracks leading to the door. My family dressed up as the characters in the movie. We had a bell ornament, crafts and a bell hot cocoa bomb! Head on over to my Polar Express blog for more!
4. Christmas Sweets:
This was my very first Christmas party I put on for my friends and thier families. The theme was Christmas sweets, so of course everything was about sweet treats. From the animal cookie ornaments to candy dipped Oreos, this party was a treat. We even had a sweet themed family costume contest! You can read more on my Christmas Sweets Blog.
5. So plaid you're here:
As you can see, plaid was the theme of this party. I greeted our guest to some plaid socks they could wear for the party and take home later as a party favor. My family wore plaid matching pajamas. There was plaid crafts and of course hot cocoa in plaid cups. Check out my Plaid Christmas Blog for more.
6. Grinchmas:
Lastly, is a party about The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. I made Whoville looking green trees for some fun centerpiece and added a Grinch to my Christmas tree for decor. We made Grinch popcorn with heart sprinkles and ate green pancakes. The kids played a game seeing what was hidden behind the Grinch's heart. For more details and tips, read my Grinchmas Party Blog.
